Why Safer Internet Day Isn’t Working

In this session Professor Andy Phippen will explore contemporary issues around online safety, such as Safer Internet Day and the Online Safety Act, both of which are proposed to be solutions to online harms issues, and argue for a more holistic, rights-based approach to supporting children and young people. Using a couple of recent online safety media stories, he will unpack the issues and explore how we might do better.
